As a key sector of the economy, the retail industry continues its significant transformation accelerated by the Covid crisis. This rapid transition to digital has led to a significant increase in online sales and a decline in traditional commerce with the disappearance of certain brands. This has necessarily had an impact on the job market with a severe shortage of digital expert profiles (SEO, project managers, Data Scientists, UX designers…) and more surprisingly, a sustained demand for sales professions (store/regional/retail managers). Headquarters functions also remain subject to a lack of executives in certain professions such as Audit, Finance/accounting or Logistics.
In recent years, salaries have tended to increase in general, although there are still strong disparities between sectors (selective/luxury vs food or specialized distribution)
